Lovely press people sent me 2 review tickets for Sigur Ros in Manchester. I saw them in Liverpool last year and they were breath-taking, really can't wait for tomorrow. Bit of a shame it's standing at the Apollo, last time was at the Philharmonic Hall, which is an awesome venue for a band like Sigur Ros. I'm sure it will still be incredible though.
Anybody else seen them live?

The band were awesome as usual. Wasn't as good as Liverpool Philharmonic last yeah. Mainly due to the morons in the crowd.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with Sigur Ros' material, but without sounding too pretentious, the silences in their songs are almost as important as the sounds. However last night people took advantage of said silences to shout 'go on lads' and 'arriba arriba'. It ruined it too a certain extent. I was half expecting the bottles of piss that Oasis fans usually throw towards the front of the crowd...

that does suck a bit. as you say, i always imagined them more suited to a kind of 'classical-music' environment when it came to their live shows. maybe they'll learn from it, and book more concert halls next time?
