see, i was a bit let down by this album. i'm not a massive fan, but i appreciate the appeal their music has, and i thought '...dancefloor' was a stomping tune, which was set to become a staple to rock nights over the land (sort of an indie 'killing in the name of' if you will...)
but i got hold of this album, and i've listened to it a few times. and try as i might, i just can't get into it. maybe i need to give it more time, but at the moment i'm of the view that none of the album really lives up to the singles.
and i wish people would stop banging on about how they got big 'COZ OF TEH INTERNERD INNIT OMGLOLZ!!!!111'

that's the opposite to my experience with the album- as my review showed, I fell in love with the album immediately, as soon as I finished listening to it I listened to it again, and again. I'm still listening to it regularly at the moment, I keep finding new things to love about it, it's an incredible album. I realise not everyone thinks this though, a few ppl I've spoke to have been a bit dissapointed, thinking it's really good, but not up to the nme's hype. What is, though?

oh...and dont you think its great that they got big 'COZ OF TEH INTERNERD INNIT OMGLOLZ!!11!!!11!!!!one!!!!!1111!!eleven!!!!!!!!! why i oughta.... hehe i think what annoys me about that assertion is that there isn't really anything amazingly special about how they released their songs. internet buzz is nothing new, and has done favours for many other bands before the arctic monkeys (although admittedly on smaller scales.) and some people seem to think that releasing their songs on the net was some kind of 'finger-to-the-man' gesture, in retaliation to the recent kerfuffle over p2p and file-sharing in general. thing is, it wasn't. if anything, it was the exact opposite, cashing in on a current issue as a shrewd marketing move.
