It seems Arctic Monkeys have confirmed they'll be playing Reading and Leeds this year. They were offered second headliner, but chose instead to take a mid-afternoon slot.

Why would you turn down second headliner? Its a bit odd if you ask me.

Because they said they thought it was too soon to be playing at that level. Guess it's the same reason they're playing Rock City in Nottingham on the next tour, when bands at the level of Kasabian opt to play the Ice Arena

When did Kasabian play an ice arena? And did they actually manage to fill it?

i think that its a great decision as it means that the carling weekend will have an extra headliner in a way as they will need to look for a great band to fill this slot..
